Our centre provides elite football opportunities for young players in the Aire-Wharfe Valley. Working in partnership with Leeds United and their academy and alongside local clubs, we aim to provide extra coaching sessions and fixtures for talented players aged u’6 – u’16 who wish to further their football journey in an elite setting. Our weekly coaching sessions take place at Ben Rhydding Sports Centre on our state of the art 4G facility with FA Level 2 and UEFA B qualified coaches and we are due to open our second centre at Marley Stadium (Keighley) in January 2021.

For the 2020/21 season our u’8,9,10,11 and 12 age groups will compete in the Private Development Games Program which is designed to create more challenging fixtures. Our u’13, 14, 15 and 16 age groups will have monthly friendly matches against like minded opposition.

A key to our success is working with and being transparent with coaches from local teams. The training and games will be scheduled to not interfere with local club football and we will not ask or expect our squads to stop playing for their local teams. We feel there is a lack of opportunity in the Wharfe Valley for players who want to challenge themselves further by playing alongside and against players of a higher standard. We want to bridge the gap between local participation football and offer our own unique elite player pathway experience.

Our u’5 sessions are based on fun, sharing, laughing and promoting an active and healthy lifestyle which will provide the building blocks for a positive future in physical activity. We aim to be diverse in our delivery ensuring that all our ‘little dribblers’ leave with a smile on their face whilst increasing the bond between teammates. Sessions are paid for in block bookings which run during term time to promote consistency and continuity which will help each child to grow and develop. All our coaches are fully DBS checked and have vast quantities of experience of working with children of this age range.

Our FA Wildcats programme is aimed at girls starting out on their football journey. The scheme is FA funded and has been developed and designed through research, as we know girls have many motivations to play football; for fun, friendship, fitness and family. We ensure our programme embraces difference, through its delivery and that our Wildcats Centres welcome girls of all abilities, backgrounds and experiences. Football has a unique power to change lives and unite our communities in ways little else can. There has never been a more important time for football to play its part in bringing our communities together and supporting girls to become physically active through football.
